April 12, 2026 Sunday Sermon The Sanctuary Within

Date: April 12, 2026

Mission: God’s Grace Mission

Theme: Understanding God within Us

Introduction: The Shift of the Temple

For centuries, humanity sought the presence of God in specific geographic locations—mountaintops, tabernacles, and stone temples. We looked up or out to find the Divine. However, the core of the Gospel message is a radical relocation.

As we gather today at God’s Grace Mission, we explore the profound truth that the Creator of the universe has chosen the most humble real estate imaginable for His permanent residence: You.

1. The Indwelling Presence

The New Testament offers a startling revelation regarding our physical and spiritual makeup. In 1 Corinthians 6:19, Paul asks:

”Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?”

2. The Internal Compass (The Still, Small Voice)

When God is within, guidance isn’t just found in ancient texts or external signs; it is felt as a conviction of the heart.

3. Reflecting the Divine Image

If God resides in us, our lives become the “front porch” through which the world sees His character. This is the ultimate mission of God’s Grace:

The Mathematical Reality of Grace

In our human logic, we often think:

My Effort + My Goodness} = God’s Presence

But the Theology of Grace at this Mission flips the equation:

God’s Presence + My Surrender} = Transformation

We don’t work for His presence; we work from it.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the mystery of Your indwelling. This Sunday, we stop looking at the horizon and start looking at the heart. Help us to honor the Temple You have built within us. May we walk out of these doors not seeking You in the world, but carrying You into it. Amen.

Blessings to the congregation of God’s Grace Mission on this 12th day of April.
